Art Quilt Definition for Show Entries
Art quilts submitted for the SBQG show must be an original exploration of an original concept or idea. They may be composed of any textile fiber and may be embellished, manipulated as to color or texture, or otherwise utilize mixed media. Techniques learned from others qualify, but the originator of the technique should be given credit as much as possible. Commercial patterns may not be used as the basis for these quilts. Art quilts may be any size, but must be able to be hung utilizing the regular pipe and drape setup, without pinning onto the drape. The piece must be composed of more than one layer, and beheld together in some manner.
